Canda’s deal with China

Canada-China Deal

Like many of you, I also feel that this trade deal between Canada and China will  certainly have a serious impact on global trade shift.

So far the reaction from Donald Trump on Canada- China deal has been pretty muted but US  trade representative, Jamieson Greer, has clearly pointed out that Canada’s agreement with China is problematic.

After a very welcome of Canadian president in Beijing,

Domestic Response on Canada China Deal

In Ontario as well as some other parts of the country the people’s reaction is different.

Canadian people are also critical to Trump’s anger on such actions. Moreover the Canadian trade record over past 10 years with China had not been encouraging.

Another risk is economic and from a security perspective what does China do with its new power in this relationship. only the time will answer it.

some of it is very positive some of it is not very positive.

On China’s side we have heard some welcoming remarks.

A political economic scientist from Taiwan, Eastberg, said, “The response from China’s friends like Taiwan consider this news a big lot. I suppose Taiwan understand the need for that sort of trade for Canada and they hope that would be part of that story”.

Trade deal-Preliminary or landmark

It’s a very targeted but limited yet in the end.

Its very different from things that we discussed 10 years ago so its not like a huge free trade agreement

But it’s a big deal because it unfreezes a relationship that was blocked for 9 years between China and Canada.

There were no high level visits before. We require doing the targeted opening and the dialogues and the opening of some contacts while being security conscious so that’s too great from this point of view.

Expected outcomes of the deal

I remember G7 and G20 countries. And probably Canada is the last country to start a functional diplomatic relationship with China.

In our globalized age, such developments do not impose limitations. Its impact can be wider. as the deal will work out, its privileging will go to Middle East and so on.

so, this is part of an effort that diversifying economy is more resilient to you today’s pressures.

In the context of negotiation of crisp, everything in 2026 will be up for negotiations and we need to pray to be done safely in the way Canadians can track that.

Reflection of USA-Vietnam deal

In October 2025, USA and Vietnam signed a deal. this Canada- China deal reflects that too.

Vietnam has benefited from global supply chain shifts and reduced US reliance on China, emerging as a major manufacturing hub. While boosting affordable US imports, this widened the US trade deficit. New 20% tariffs raise costs for key exports but offer policy clarity and avert harsher, uncompetitive rates.

The global scenarios are shifting rapidly. Diplomacy, politics, wars are altering the geopolitics. However, this is the outcome of man’s continuous struggle and innovative strategies.

The super powers are competing but they are also providing this planet new sources also.
